Mary Bell Kemp George was born July 11, 1911 in Bladen County, North Carolina. She grew up with her brothers and sisters, and later married Willie Coss George, and to this union eleven children were born and raised.

Mary Bell enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, sewing and farming with her husband and children.  Her favorite church activity was singing, which she she did with all of her heart.

She loved her husband and children deeply, and loved other children as her own as well.
Mary Bell passed away on October 14, 1955 at the age of 44.
